- FMSAC founded by a group of citizens concerned about the decline in Federal funding for regional Avalanche Centers.

- Inaugural Snowball fundraiser held.
- Funds provided for existing weather station maintenance and upgrades.
- FMSAC began promotion of the Avalanche Center’s public education mission through flyers, brochures, newspaper articles and member update letters.
- FMSAC purchased a snow depth sensor for existing Mt. Eddy weather station.

- FMSAC funds purchased and installed a new weather station at Castle Lake.
- Trained volunteer forecasters began providing supplemental forecasts for 7 day a week coverage.
- FMSAC established the Whitaker/Keane Memorial Scholarship Fund with a donation provided by the families of Travis Whitaker and Kevin Keane to support continuing community avalanche education.
- FMSAC launches website to enhance public education information and fundraising efforts.

- FMSAC funds purchased and installed new Mt. Eddy weather station.
- Viewing bench dedicated at Bunny Flat- purchased with FMSAC funds received from the Whitaker & Keane families.

- FMSAC provided funds for the upgrading of the Avalanche Center’s weather station network, replacing costly cell phone data transmission with spread spectrum radio.

- FMSAC funds provided upgrades to the Mt. Eddy weather station to include it in the radio network.
- FMSAC funds purchased avalanche awareness signs to be installed seasonally on existing signboards on Everitt Memorial Highway.
